Novelis dazzles at International Geneva Motor Show

Concept cars displayed at International Geneva Motor Show feature Novelis aluminum

Many of the vehicles and concept cars showcased at the annual International Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland, exclusively featured Novelis aluminum. These comprised Maserati Levante, Alfa Romeo and IONIQ line of Hyundai.

“Our aluminum is critical to the success of many new vehicles beinglaunched in Europe and around the globe,” said Mr. Pierre Labat, Vice President, Global Automotive.

Maserati Levante debuted its first sport utility vehicle (SUV) at the show. Novelis’ Nachterstedt and Sierre plants supply the entire aluminum sheet featured in the Levante, including the hood, front and rear doors and tailgate.Joined by Maserati under the FIAT Group is Italian automaker, Alfa Romeo. The automaker unveiled its new model, the Giulia, at the show. This is the first model of the newly developed Alfa Romeo platform. Novelis is supplying the entire aluminum sheet for the outer body parts on the entire Giulia lineup.

Besides, Hyundai released a trio of green vehicles, called the IONIQ line, in Geneva: a hybrid gas electric vehicle (EV); a plug-in hybrid and a completely electric EV. Novelis supplies aluminum sheet for the IONIQ’s hood and tailgate from its Changzhou, China, line.
