Aditya
Birla Group’s retired alumni website,
For Old Times’ Sake, was launched on
27 September 2007.
For Old Times’ Sake is an online forum
that is dedicated to enable all our retired
team members to reunite, network with peers,
discuss issues and stay connected. As they
say, after every long inning there is an urge
for more.
Leading
the website project was Dr. Misra, who envisioned
this website as a true community-driven
movement reaching out to the Group’s
retirees and enabling them to stay connected
anywhere, anytime.
The
event was attended by Mrs. Rajashree Birla,
Director, Aditya Birla Group of Companies,
Chairperson, Aditya Birla Centre for Community
Initiatives and Rural Development, Dr. Santrupt
Misra, Director, Aditya Birla Management Corporation
Ltd., Dr. Pragnya Ram, Group Executive President,
Corporate Communications and several retired
alumni.
Mr. B.L. Shah, the guest of honour for the
event, launched the website. In his own inimitable
style, he said that the website would go a
long way in reaching out and connecting with
our retired alumni. Peppering his speech with
historical anecdotes, he talked about his
life and times with the Aditya Birla Group
spanning more than five decades. A website
demonstration was followed by a vibrant Q&A
session.
Available
under the address www.adityabirlaretirees.com,
the site features communication tools such
as the Bulletin Board (for broadcast
messaging) and Announcement (for
private messaging) to enable the Group’s
retired alumni to reach out and connect
to other members. Besides providing regular
informative articles on a variety of topics
from Dignity Foundation, the website also
provides its members access to the Group’s
flagship magazines — Aditya and Aditya
Kiran.
The
soul of the website lies in the ‘Straight
From The Heart’ section where members
share their experiences of working with
the Aditya Birla Group.
