The Aditya Birla Group - Among the Best Employers In two separate surveys, conducted by the 'Great Place to Work In' Institute, and 'Hewitt Associates', the Aditya Birla Group has ranked in the top 20.

In India's first ever survey of "Great places to work in", published in Business World magazine, The Aditya Birla Group has been ranked 16th among 100 participating companies. The Group's sister concern, Birla Sun Life Insurance Co. Ltd., has been ranked 9th in the same study.

On the key parameters of "Pride", "Camaraderie", "Fun place to work", the Group has scored 3 points, on a scale of 5. From a total employee strength of 51,054 in India, 5,695 employees have been working with the Group for over five years. The attrition rate (staff turnover) was at 1.10per cent.

Birla Sun Life Insurance scored high on trust and honesty in its business practices. Though not very different in appearance from other offices, the Company distinguished itself by "the nervous energy that its employees exuded." According to an employee, Shrikant Sharma, " The organisation gives you all the work you can do. That makes us eager to come back to work every day."

Robert Levering, the founder of the Great Place to Work Institute, Inc., defines a great place to work in as one " where you trust the people you work for; have pride in what you do, and enjoy the people you work with.."

In another study conducted by Business Today magazine, and Hewitt Associates, The Aditya Birla Group was ranked 20th out of the 220 participating organizations. The magazine has stated that the Group's key drivers for attraction and retention of talent are its reputation for being a "diversified conglomerate providing multiple career opportunities, a clear future direction for growth, and a highly empowering culture."
