Liaoning Birla Carbon represents the Aditya Birla Group’s first venture in China. It is a joint venture between the Group’s Thai based carbon black unit, Thai Carbon Black Company Limited and Dashiqiao Ronghua Chemical Co. Ltd., Dashiqiao, Liaoning Province, China with equity ratio of 89:11. The company was certified for Quality Management System, ISO 9001:2000 in December 2003.

The company is engaged in the manufacture and marketing of furnace grade carbon black, marketed under the brand name Birla Carbon. Carbon black is primarily used in rubber goods, such as tyres and tubes or automobiles, flaps, conveyor belts and also for ink pigment and plastic industries.

The plant is operating with state-of-the-art technology adopting oil furnace wet pelletised technological process along with re-use of waste water through recycling, ensuring zero discharge. Equipped with the Distributed Control System (DCS) in its manufacturing operations, ensures consistency of product quality. Innovative total energy utilisation concept has made way for effective use of tail gases. A captive power plant of 8 mw capacities has been installed and has been commissioned along with the capacity expansion project, which has increased the availability of product volumes fourfold. Liaoning Birla Carbon is supplying to the world’s top tyre manufacturers like Bridgestone, Michelin, Goodyear and Sumitomo, etc., which have plants in China.
