Mr. Shailendra K. Jain
Whole-time Director and President, Grasim Industries Ltd.

Mr. Shailendra K. Jain heads the Group's pulp and staple fibre business in India and globally.

He is a Director on the board of Grasim Industries Ltd., A.V. Cell Inc., Canada, P.T. Indo Bharat Rayon, Indonesia, and Thai Rayon, Thailand, which represent the Group's international pulp and fibre operations. He is also on the board of Vippy Spinpro Ltd., Dewas, Sungod Trading & Investments Ltd., Samruddhi Swastik Trading & Investments Ltd. and Multifibers and Yarns (USA) Inc.

Mr. Jain has been honoured with the Outstanding Young Person Award, 1978 by Indian Jaycees, Appreciation Award for pioneering work on environmental control strategies (1991), Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Award for outstanding contribution to Industry and Society (1995) and Ujjayani Rattan Samman (2000). He is also a Paul Haris Fellow of Rotary International. He has authored several articles based on his practical and research experience in the field of environment, forestation, productivity, rayon fibre and wood pulp.

Mr. Jain joined the Aditya Birla Group in 1965, after completing his post-graduation (S.M.) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA. Mr. Jain is also a B.Sc. (gold medalist) from Vikram University, Ujjain and a B.E. Hons (gold medalist) from the University of Mumbai.
