UltraTech’s Dhar unit ahead of schedule

New Delhi: UltraTech Cement, the flagship company of Aditya Birla Group, will commission its new cement plant at Dhar, Madhya Pradesh in April, over a year ahead of schedule, on the back of record sales in November and December, a source said.

“The company is doing well in the north zone. So it is pushing forward. It recorded sales of more than 60 per cent on yearly basis in November. In December too there has been robust sale,” the source said.

An email sent to the company for the reason behind pushing forward the operationalisation of Dhar plant remained unanswered.

Kumar Mangalam Birla, chairman of Aditya Birla Group, in July had announced building the cement plant with capacity of 3.5 million tonne per annum at Dhar involving an investment of $400 million.
