Novelis recycles more than 82 billion used beverage cans each year. A can recycled today can be turned back into a new can and returned to store shelves in roughly 60 days. Aluminum is infinitely recyclable.  Recycling aluminum requires 95% less energy than primary aluminum production, resulting in 95% less carbon emissions. The company has created the first and the largest closed-loop recycling systems in the world. This allows it to take back as much of its customers’ aluminum scrap as possible, turning it back into the same product again and again. Closing the loop preserves the value of the alloy, reduces recycling and transportation costs, minimises environmental impact and establishes a secure supply chain.
