I belong to Jaipur, which is like a city of culture. You see a lot of heritage buildings around. So I have grown up in that place.

Being from there, my father was also somewhere doing colored stones in the beginning. So you know, I was very much connected to that field. I used to go through a lot of jewelry regularly, and somewhere I had an eye for precision, perfection, and that is where the detail comes in. I would always look at the details of things, and that’s when I thought, I think this is something I should pursue.

I think design philosophies completely depend on the evolving customers because the people what they used to like 10 years back don’t want to wear it now, obviously also because of the rising gold prices. So we can’t make really heavy jewelry now. So it has to be minimum, still making it close to the heritage and you know, culture that they want to own. So that’s why I think evolving, making heritage more lightweight, wearable, and adaptable to the modern customer, their styles, their trends, I think that’s how it’s been evolving.

I got actually to work on a clean slate where there was no set blueprint that, you know, this is what you’re supposed to do. You can actually put your aspirations into picture, you know, what you wanted to create and thatsh ow I think the journey has been very, very fulfilling because I have been able to create multiple varieties of products in, you know, withing a very short span. So yeah, it was a sprint but a well-worth it.

I see Indriya as the wedding destination brand because in India most of the jewelry buying happens during weddings. So I would want it to be the bridal destination store for every Indian woman. They should aspire to own an Indriya piece which I have created.

Hurricane means something for me. It’s like an air which is there around you. It’s kind of quietly there around you, unnoticed, invisible. But then, you know, it can change into a storm when the time comes. And that’s where you unleash your potential, and you bring the best out of you, and it can bring a storm of change, creativity, courage.
