Hindalco’s brand refresh: Shift for Future-First, Solution-Driven identity

For over six decades, Hindalco has stood as a pillar of India’s industrial growth. Founded in Renukoot more than 65 years ago, the company’s roots trace back to a time when even basic infrastructure had to be built from the ground up. From those humble beginnings, Hindalco has evolved to become a powerhouse in aluminium, copper, and specialty alumina—powering the electrification of a young nation and contributing to every stage of its infrastructure journey.

Now the company is pushing the boundaries of its mission further – transforming into a solutioneer that partners customers to co-create new solutions across its businesses. Hindalco is looking at meeting the needs of India’s new sectors – EV mobility, renewable energy, energy storage, semiconductors, high-end electronics and more.

Capturing this transition, Hindalco unveiled its new brand identity on 20th March 2025. 

At the launch event, Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman, Aditya Birla Group reflected on the company’s remarkable journey: “Hindalco has been, is, and will always be a force for good.”
 

The Future, First-Hand

Bringing its transformation to life, Hindalco also created a unique, immersive space — the Hindalco Experience City. Designed as a tech-enabled exhibition, it gave customers, partners and stakeholders a first-hand view of Hindalco’s future-ready solutions.

The Experience City featured augmented and virtual reality zones, along with guided tours of products and solutions. It showcased Hindalco’s innovations across different sectors, offering a clear look at how the company is powering progress, not only as a concept, but as a tangible, present-day reality. 
 

Decoding the new identity

Hindalco-taglines--engineering-better-futures-ai.jpgThe new Hindalco identity captures the company’s strategic shift—from a supplier of raw materials to a provider of high-performance engineered solutions. It features a bold wordmark and a distinctive ‘H’ Symbol. 

Set in blue, the Wordmark stands for Hindalco’s legacy of trust and competence. The ‘H’ is crafted from two plus signs, representing collaboration and co-creation with customers. The gradient on the ‘H’ moves from blue to green—signifying a journey toward sustainable innovation and a future-forward vision. Together, they represent a brand philosophy grounded in ‘Engineering Better Futures’.
 

 

Built for What’s Next

This brand transformation is backed by an equally ambitious business strategy. Hindalco is investing ₹45,000 crore across its aluminium, copper, and specialty alumina businesses—not just to scale, but to lead innovation in emerging sectors like EV mobility, renewable energy, battery storage, semiconductors, defence, and aerospace.

Across its 52 plants in 10 countries, Hindalco is helping shape the future in multiple high-impact sectors. 

  • It is fuelling the EV revolution with advanced aluminium and copper components, including battery enclosures and India’s first-ever copper foil plant dedicated to electric vehicles. 
  • Through Novelis, it has set a benchmark for circularity in packaging by establishing the country’s only can-body stock plant that uses over 80% recycled content. 
  • On the energy front, Hindalco is pioneering hybrid renewable models — including an innovative 100 MW solution that combines wind, solar and pumped hydro storage. 
  • Through Hindalco-Almex Aerospace Limited (HAAL), the company is also contributing to national priorities by supporting ISRO and India’s defence sector with high-purity, high-performance alloys designed for aerospace and defence applications.
