Moving, lifting, shipping

The MV Aditya occupies a proud position as the first ship of the Aditya Birla Group. The Aditya and its sister carrier MV Vinayak are owned by Swiss Singapore Overseas Enterprise (SSOE), the international trading arm of the Group.

Incorporated in 1978 in Singapore, SSOE has grown to become a leading bulk commodity trading solutions provider to clients across the globe.

Swiss Singapore is among the largest international sulphur traders and the largest lifter of South African coal for various markets. Last year, it moved over 35 million tonnes of cargo, earning over $5 billion of revenue.

Delivering the highest quality of service at competitive rates is at the core of Swiss Singapore’s business philosophy. The dedicated shipping team charters over 400 vessels to cater to customer requirements.

The queen of the sea

Owning two vessels has enabled Swiss Singapore to enhance service levels
and ensure efficient deliveries at short notice

Acquired in 2015, MV Aditya is a Supramax vessel, with a capacity of over
55,000 metric tonnes. MV Vinayak is a Supramax bulk carrier.

Precious cargo

The company transports sulphur, fertilisers, petroleum and petrochemical products, agri products, tea, coal, iron ore and steel.

Coal

Trading 20 million tonnes of coal annually, SSOE sources and transports bulk coal from mines in South East Asia, South Africa, North & South America, Middle East and Australia.

Iron ore

Close-knit commercial relationships with mine owners, exporters, steel mills and importers have helped Swiss Singapore supply more than 4.8 million tonnes of iron ore worldwide.

Fertilisers

The largest supplier of urea to the Indian market, Swiss Singapore also supplies more than 1.8 million tonnes of fertilisers to more than 18 countries across six continents.

Agro products

Dealing with over 550,000MT of agro commodities annually, Swiss Singapore services Myanmar, Canada, Australia, the Indian subcontinent, UAE, East Africa, Black Sea and CIS.

Petroleum

Swiss Singapore has built strong relationships with major oil companies, refiners and traders around the world, supplying 4+ million tonnes to customers in the Indian sub-continent, the Middle East and South East Asia.

Sulphur

A leader in the sulphur trade, Swiss Singapore sources over 2.8 million tonnes of sulphur from all major global suppliers and tailors solutions for customer requirements.
