The event sees exchange of ideas on various sustainability measures
The Corporate Technical and Energy Services (CTES) division of the Aditya Birla Group along with the Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA) and Taloja Manufacturers’ Association (TMA) jointly organised an awareness programme on Energy Conservation and Sustainability on 4 March 2015 at Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), Taloja.
The theme of the event was energy conservation and sustainability. Thirty-three people representing a spectrum of industries from Taloja industrial area took part in the event. Mr. Jagrat Mankad, Head, CTES-ABMCPL, spoke about energy conservation and urged the participating industries to adopt energy conservation measures.
Ms. Harshita Soni from Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) threw light on the importance of green component in our industries. She spoke about the ''GreenCO Rating'' scheme pioneered by CII and encouraged the audience to participate in it. She also elaborated on the various benefits from GreenCo rating and the importance of Life Cycle Cost concept.
Mr. Hemant Patil from MEDA highlighted the energy saving potential scenario in Maharashtra and explained the various schemes rolled out by MEDA and Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) on energy conservation. Save Energy Program, a subsidy for carrying out energy audit in industries; State Energy Conservation Award and Perform, Achieve and Trade (PAT) scheme were some of the examples cited by Mr. Patil.
Mr. Ravindra Datar from Senergy Consultants, took the audience through the fundamentals of operations for energy guzzlers in industries. He also gave tips on how to operate energy intensive equipment at their best efficiency points.
The vote of thanks was presented by Secretary General of TMA, Mr. Thakre. The event was compered by Mr. Dharmendra Davda from CTES cell of Aditya Birla Group. Mr. Deepak Gokhale and Mr. Dipak Khandare from CTES, ABMCPL splendidly supported him in coordinating the programme.
