Indo Gulf Fertilisers was awarded the ‘Asian CSR Leadership Award’ for community development

Indo Gulf Fertilisers bagged the Asia CSR Leadership Award for community development on
7 October 2015 at an event held at hotel Taj, Dubai. Mr. R. Balasubramanyam, Head - CSR, ABNL &; SKI Carbon Black India and Mr. Abhinav Sinha, Sr. Manager - CSR, Indo Gulf Fertilisers accepted the award on behalf of Indo Gulf Fertilisers from Mr. Ken Shelton, CEO of Leadership Excellence. The award is hosted by Asian Confederation of Business and endorsed by the Star of the Industry Group, World CSR Day, CMO Asia, World Sustainability and thought leaders.

The Asian CSR Leadership Award is a benchmark to recognise and honour companies for embodying the principles of Corporate Social Responsibility in their business philosophy and operations. The award aims to honour companies that continuously innovate and implement sustainable approaches towards becoming socially responsible. Currently in its 5th year, the awards continue the established tradition which defines and celebrates vision, upholds the spirit of achievement and recognises excellence in business leadership in Asia.

Mr. Rajendra Sankhe, Chief Operating Officer of Indo Gulf Fertilisers noted that the company’s CSR team is highly dedicated to the cause of sustainable development and added that receiving the award inspired the staff to work more passionately for the local community.

Indo Gulf Fertilisers (IGF) has been implementing a number of sustainable community development projects in the areas of health, education, livelihood, infrastructure and social cause. Some unique social initiatives implemented by IGF are skill training (under Birla Shaktiman Vocational Training Centre in partnership with CII), Indo Gulf Jan Seva Trust Hospital, Skin Care &; Leprosy Centre, Aditya Birla Public School, Farmers’ Club (in collaboration with NABARD), girl child development programme with special focus on KGBV, women empowerment and livelihood programmes etc. In February, IGF’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) work has also received Global CSR Excellence &; Leadership Award 2015 for its contribution to community development.
