Novelis introduces Coloris

The Novelis Asia team launches Coloris, a pre-painted product line exclusively for the architectural industry

The Asia team of Novelis recently introduced Coloris™, a pre-painted product line exclusively for the architectural industry. "Coloris™ is a highly differentiated product that we are manufacturing with our existing assets and a tolling company that we have developed with help from our European colleagues," said Mr. Vishal Rao, Vice President, Sales and Marketing of Specialty Products for Asia.

Made of high-strength aluminum alloys, Coloris™ allows the same strength at a lower thickness or larger panel spans. Manufactured using continuous roll coating process, Coloris boasts of a more homogenous surface quality as compared to conventional post-spray-painted aluminum. The top-quality coating used for Coloris™ provides excellent seawater resistance.

The new product has been gaining popularity in China as well with the latest project being the Port of Qingdao, one of the 10 largest ports in the world. In the coming year, the $800 million cruise port is all set to host the largest cruise ships in the world, the Oasis of the Sea and the Allure of the Sea with roughly 100,000 metric tonnes each. With 90 metric tonnes of Coloris™ covering the new cruise terminal, which is expected to see more than 600,000 passengers annually, it is sure to become a recognised symbol of world travel.
