Novelis wins Excellent Supplier award

Novelis named Excellent Supplier by FAW-VW in China for second consecutive year

For the second year in a row, Novelis has won the 2015 Excellent Supplier award from FAW-Volkswagen (FAW-VW). The automaker bestowed the honour on Novelis on January 12 at its Purchasing Working Conference in China. Of the 10 companies that received the award, Novelis was the only flat-rolled aluminum supplier – a recognition of the important role the company played in helping FAW-VW with the development of aluminum parts for their brand of Audi cars in China.

"We are honoured that FAW-VW has chosen Novelis as an excellent supplier for the second time in a row," said Mr. James Liu, Managing Director of Novelis China and Vice President of Automotive for Novelis Asia.

Novelis has strategically partnered with FAW-VW in China since 2012. After two years of partnership, in 2014, the OEM gave Novelis China its Good Supplier nomination, as well as the Excellent Supplier award. The 2015 Excellent Supplier award won by Novelis reiterates the meaningful collaboration between the company and FAW-VW in supporting lightweight car production in China. Novelis was not only the only flat-rolled aluminum supplier to receive the award, but was also one of only 10 suppliers chosen from more than 500.

Looking ahead, the automaker plans to produce and sell 3 million vehicles in China by 2020 – and will certainly look to Novelis for support.
