On 14 April 2005 at 9.00 am, a long held dream became a reality. On that day, the Eternal Gandhi multimedia museum was inaugurated by Dr. Manmohan Singh, Hon''ble Prime Minister of India, at Birla House Gandhi Smriti, Tees Janvari Marg, New Delhi. The Aditya Birla Group felt honoured at being the project initiator on this momentous occasion.
The response and reaction of people from all over reaffirmed the Group''s undeterred faith in Gandhiji''s life, values and teachings. Children in particular, have shown great interest in the interactive features of the exhibition.
In an effort to further propagate the teachings of the Mahatma, a mobile version of the Eternal Gandhi multimedia museum has been c;reated. It is hoped that this mobile edition will travel to the farthest reaches of our country and the globe — that the world may see that in the half-century since his demise, the wisdom of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi has grown from a gentle glow to a beacon of hope that shines before people of all nations.
The first exposition of the mobile edition of Eternal Gandhi was opened on Saturday, 11 February 2006 at NGMA (National Gallery of Modern Art), Sir C. J. Hall, Mahatma Gandhi Marg, Mumbai 400 032 (Near Regal Cinema) at 4 pm at the hands of renowned filmmaker Shri Shyam Benegal. The path breaking exhibit on the Father of our Nation will be open till 12 March 2006 between 11 am and 7 pm (except Mondays).
