What if you could take a gastronomical tour of some of the culinary capitals of the world, without ever leaving your own city? To celebrate World Food Day today, and with World Cities Day just around the corner, let’s go globe-trotting with ABNAH’s premium dining destinations in a city near you.
From Lucknow with love
Our first destination is Waarsa at the National Centre of Performing Arts (NCPA) in Mumbai. The latest addition to ABNAH’s F&B range is so much more than a restaurant that it will transport you to the royal kitchens of the erstwhile Awadh region. Meaning ‘inheritance’, Waarsa is inspired by the diverse culinary landscape of historic cities like Lucknow, Benares (Varanasi) and Kolkata that are renowned for the rich flavours, aromas and techniques of Awadhi cuisine.
Did you know: Just about 400 kilometres from Lucknow lies Renukoot, the birthplace of Hindalco. It was here in 1958 that Shri G.D. Birla established India’s first integrated aluminium facility, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s industrial growth.
A culinary capital in your city
Next stop - London town. Considered to be one of the culinary capitals of the world, the city boasts of some of the hottest restaurants on the planet, including Michelin-starred Hakkasan. This contemporary Cantonese restaurant perfectly captures the essence of London’s diverse culinary scene and the best part is, you can get a taste of it in Mumbai.
The other addition from London’s happening food scene to our own, is Yauatcha – a modern-day dining experience that artfully blends dim sum, mixology, tea and European patisserie across its locations in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Kolkata.
Bangkok to Bombay
Apart from the historic cities of India, and the happening city of London, ABNAH also brings the vibrancy of Bangkok to Mumbai with Nara Thai. Reminiscent of the colourful and cheerful Amalfi coast, yet located in the heart of Mumbai, CinCin’s menu is a flavour-driven dream come true.
